Madera County Amateur Radio Club Constitution

ARTICLE I.      NAME AND LOCATION

                 A. Name of this organization shall be the Madera 

                     County Amateur Radio Club.

                 B. The mailing address and principal place of 

                     business shall be determined by the executive

                     committee.

ARTICLE II.     PURPOSE

                 A. The organization is formed for public service,

                     education, scientific and recreational 

                     purposes of amateur radio communications

                     and to elevate the standards of operating

                     practices and ethics in amateur radio

                     communications.

                 B. The organization will sponsor, support and 

                     maintain an amateur repeater system.

                          (1) Day-to-day operation will be by a

                               four person repeater committee.                                     

ARTICLE III.    MEMBERSHIP

                A. Any licensed radio operator or any person who possesses

                     a bona fide interest in amateur radio and who are willing

                     to participate in public service and club activities.

                          (1) Non-licensed members will be identified as associate

                               members.

                B. Applicants for membership shall submit a written application

                    to the executive committee.

                          (1) Applications will be submitted on an official form 

                               provided by the organization.

                C. The executive committee may determine special types of

                    memberships such as, absentee, honorary or courtesy member.

 

ARTICLE IV.   OFFICERS

                A. The officers of this organization shall be known as President,

                    Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and two additional board

                    members.

                          (1) The officers will be known as the executive board, whose 

                               duties shall be those that are normally associated with such

                               officers and the by-laws.

                B. Officers of this organization shall be elected be popular vote of the

                   qualified membership for a term of one year, such election to be 

                   held at the regular June meeting for the following year.

                C. The president of the club shall hold a valid General class amateur 

                   radio license or higher. All other officers shall possess a valid

                   amateur radio license of any class.

                D. In the event of a vacancy of any official for any reason, the vacancy

                   shall be filled by the executive committee, who shall appoint

                   someone from the membership to serve the remainder of the

                   un-expired term.

                E. Removal for cause from club membership shall be determined by 2/3

                   vote of the executive committee. 

ARTICLE V.  COMMITTEES

               A. The executive committee shall conduct the affairs of the

                   organization to fulfill its purpose, to handle business and social affairs

                   not specifically assigned to any particular officer, and to maintain

                   supervision over the acts and duties of the elected officers.

               B. Committees and trustees may be created, their members appointed,

                   their duties defined and their existence terminated by the executive

                   committee as such committees may, from time to time determined

                   as necessary.

ARTICLE VI.  MEETINGS

               A. Regular meetings shall be held on the first Thursday of each month at

                   7:00 PM.

               B. Special meetings may be called by the president or by any three

                   members of the executive committee.

               C. Dates, times and places of meetings may be changed to

                   accommodate conflicting or special activities. 

ARTICLE VII.  DUES

               A. Dues shall be determined by a majority 2/3 vote of the executive

                   committee. Dues are payable by July 1st annually.

               B. Applications received after December 31st will pay 1/2 of the

                   membership dues through June 30th.

               C. Licensed amateurs under the age of 16 will receive free membership

                   to the club.

ARTICLE VIII.  AMENDMENTS

               A. The constitution may be amended by a majority 2/3 vote of members

                   present at any scheduled meeting.

 

This constitution supersedes and replaces all previous constitutions.
